You will find Wolke Danes nestled among the hills of Southern California, tucked away in the northern corner of San Diego County. Where you will also find myself (Joan Wolke) and my wonderful Great Danes! All of my Danes are raised in my home, where they sleep mostly in bed with me.
My first Dane was Duke, a really nice fawn boy. I knew nothing about showing or breeding, I just knew I loved that dog. He died in 1985 at 7 ½ years old. It wasn’t until 1995 that I purchased my second Dane, CH Wolke’s Magical Noel CGC, and the fun began. She became my foundation bitch, and gave me 2 beautiful litters. Noel and I learned a lot together. First and foremost that I should not Handle!! She truly was the beginning of it all.
Today I am a member of The Great Dane Club of America, The Great Dane Club of San Diego and Tri-Valley Working Dog Club of Pinon Hills. I follow the code of ethics and the code of breeders set forth by these clubs. The standard is important to me and should always be kept in mind. I breed for sound, good moving healthy Danes with great temperament and breed type.
